An eight-week course offering birth support teams valuable information regarding the physical and emotional areas of childbirth and early parenting. The 8th week will be followed by a daytime group
session – a chance for the group to meet socially.

Topics covered include prenatal care, pregnancy information, pelvic awareness, relaxation techniques, stretching, labour and birth preparation, breastfeeding, pain relief methods and options, practical parenting and infant car seat installation.

In addition to the antenatal course birth support teams will receive a voucher for a 1hr infant massage session and a 2 hr postnatal doula session. A 1hr infant CPR session and hospital tour will be held during the course.

The classes are held in comfortable surroundings and are relaxed and informal, encouraging questions and open discussion.

Birth preparation means more than just absorbing information - it means learning skills and engaging your head and your heart. The classes are interactive and fun and the antenatal course also offers an excellent opportunity to encourage new friendships and where expectant parents feel supported and educated in their new role.

Pregnancy, birth and early parenting are very significant experiences and each pregnancy and birth is unique with its own physiological, psychological, spiritual and social importance.
